Meet the girls:
Like all moms, I wear many hats. I am a teacher by training, but am not currently teaching by profession. I am an author and the founder and president of It’s a Mom Thing ministries. Some of my more current books include Strong and Kind and Happy, Happy, Happy Stories for Kids. I work at a Christian Camp, Camp Ch-Yo-Ca, in the summer and am privileged to work with a mission effort in the Dominican Republic each year. I have three children and fourteen grandchildren who are the most important people in my life. Well, also my husband, my siblings, my mom, my aunts and uncles…you get the picture, family is important to me.
I play tennis and sew when I have time and still love the TV show, Survivor—yep, I’ve been with it all 17 years! The past few years I’ve also been a fan of another reality show, Duck Dynasty. My oldest daughter, Korie, is married to Willie Robertson so lots of craziness happens in the neighborhood we all live in. My son, Ryan, also lives in West Monroe with his wife, Christi, and his three awesome kids. And my youngest, Ashley, is married to Jay Nelson and they live in Huntsville, AL with the rest of my amazing grandkids.
As the mom of adult children, I know that being a mom is a lifetime honor and commitment. It takes courage and conviction to remain true to your mission to raise responsible Christian adults. Our hope at It’s a Mom Thing is to provide some much needed encouragement for your mission.
Thank you for visiting our site. I hope you have an awesome day. Hugs, Chrys
Jenny Steffins Remsberg
I grew up, the fifth of seven kids, in a musical family, with a rich Christian heritage. Born in Oregon, I grew up most of my life in West Monroe, LA. After graduating from Ouachita Christian School, I earned a BA in Music and Home Economics/Family Studies, with minors in Bible and Psychology from Abilene Christian University. Out of college, I sang professionally with my sisters, “The SteffinSisters,” working internationally for eight years on multiple projects and tours, until Life took us in different directions.
I am the mom of four (+1) ~ Victoria, ( husband, Jonathan Worley) Benton, Olivia and Nathaniel ~ of my favorite people on earth. I have operated as a single mom since 2003, choosing to home school my kids through the transitions, until high school. It’s A Mom Thing was birthed , in 2005, beginning with women’s events. During this time, I was also midday host on a Christian radio station, so it was natural for IAMT to move into radio in 2010. In addition, I was a Vocal coach for ten years, getting to watch my children grow musically, as well as helping other young singers gain confidence in learning to use their gifts.
Today, along with IAMT, I am passionately involved with Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center of Monroe as the Development Director, as well as a designer/creator for VBON Designs.
Victoria, Jonathan, and Benton are graduates of Hillsong College, Sidney, Australia. Olivia just graduated from ULM with a BA in Public Relations, while Nathaniel completed his Freshman year.
Being a Mom is Definitely the toughest job I will ever Love, but Ohhhh, What a Gift!! As each pursues their own dreams, I am expectant thrill to look ahead to ALL God has for me, according to His perfect purpose!! I Love Him and the Life He Gives!!!
“Many, O Lord my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of your wonders, They would be too many to count.” ~ Psalm 40:5 ~
